2023

2023 marks a year for new beginnings in Morin’s practice. The artist was in her third year of uOttawa’s BFA program, and it is during this time that she began to explore colour. Morin began to paint by not limiting her palette to the colours she sees, but rather by examining the different arrays that are necessary to see a colour, giving depth and complexity where flatness usually lies. It is during this period that the artist also began to create works by series, allowing her to expand one idea through multiple artworks, ultimately planting the roots of her thesis on identity through the northern eye.
