I Outgrew The Shoes That Used to Take Me Home explores the feeling of longing for home when it isn't a place anymore:
I’ve observed this pattern within myself,
A few words that I repeat when living in uncertainty.
A few words that I whisper as tears leave my eyes:
                      “I want to go home”.
A few words that confused me when I found myself saying them while being “home”.
A few words that broke me when I realised that my house could no longer protect me from uncertainty.
That my mom no longer had the answers for the struggles I was facing.
That this idea of “home” was really just a place of safety and comfort.
Time to face the world I guess.
