“Spotted With Pansies”
By Artist Chris Glabb
January 28th, 2026
Chris Glabb’s second solo exhibition "Spotted With Pansies” is shown at the Niagara Artist Centre’s Flea Market Gallery in St-Catharines, ON. Glabb had envisioned a room full of spots for his paintings to rest over top, one that overwhelms the viewer as they are immersed in an illusory landscape. The artist created himself the beautiful wallpaper shown in the photos below. I was honoured to document this series that renders the pansy as a symbolism of queerness, put in a room that suffocates the viewer with its imagery, ultimately simulating the fear that is attached to coming out.
